Origins | Nature's Little Super Stars

Origins Skincare has fast become a firm favourite of mine, from the branding to the wholesome goodness of the products themselves. I popped in a while ago and there was a deal offering 3 deluxe samples with any Origins purchase. Here's what I've been trying out...

From L-R: Modern Friction Dermabrasion, Vitazing Moisturiser, Weil Mega-Bright Serum

Firstly, if all sample sizes were this big, I'd be a happy gal. Ranging between 30ml - 7ml allows you to really get to grips with a product and see how your skin takes to it over a period of time. I hate sachet testers because that measly amount barely makes it from hand to face and tests nothing; Origins were spot on with this deal in allowing buyers to try out 3 different products inside and out.

1. Origins Vitazing Moisturiser.

This moisturiser contains SPF 15 and Mangosteen, giving it that 'energy-boosting' namesake. Rich in anti-oxidants the Mangosteen helps brighten the skin and give it the glow of an athlete. Well, thereabouts.
What I didn't quite like, is that it has a sheer tint release - which, whilst it isn't obvious at all really, it's annoying as it seems like a pointless add-on. It doesn't come in a 'non sheer tint included' format, either, so it's tint or nothing.
But that's just a minor, niggly point, the pros outweigh the con, especially the texture. This is super lightweight but hydrating and absorbs quickly. A thin layer is enough to prep the skin for make up and leaves no greasy residue.

Repurchase? Possibly, but it didn't really grab my attention too much.

Full size retails at: £27 for 50ml

 2. Weil For Origins Mega Bright Skin Tone Correcting Serum

This is a small sample and I think, with serums you would need a good 2-3 month use to notice a major difference. Texture wise this is really nice, and appears as a clear gel and is orangey scented. It doesn't need to be really rubbed into the skin and does the work itself.

Did I notice a difference? To be honest, not really but I think serums require dedication and I would be willing to give it another go!

Full size retails at: £46 for 30ml

3. Modern Friction Nature's Gentle Dermabrasion.

I saved the best till last - an amazing cleanser. Does anyone else hate these 'exfoliating scrubs' with the beads which just roll over the skin and don't actually exfoliate in the slightest? Even St Ives Apricot Scrub is useless to me but I have found the ultimate exfoliating face wash at Origins. And no one else explains it better..

'Skin-refining Rice Starch cushioned in cream, rapidly removes sluggish cells, uneven patches and signs of skin damage and discolourations. Lemon Oil kick starts the process of illumination. Vitamin C mops up skin-menacing free radicals.'

The grains in this are super fine but super effective, and when gently rubbing into the skin, you feel them working, ridding the dead skin without scratching or causing any redness. As you rinse away, you are left with silky smooth, brand new skin that visibly glows. This is something I reach for on a weekly basis, up to twice a week in the cold months and it works a treat everytime.

£31 for 125ml OH and they do a body one which is on my next-to-buy list!
